A two-stage Meta funnel that tests creative cheaply, then graduates only the winners to lead generation.
Intro
Russel & Rose make fine jewellery, the kind you photograph well and sell on feeling. The whole brand runs through Instagram, so the feed isn’t a channel sitting next to the business, it’s the shopfront. Meta is the right place for that, but only if the creative earns the attention before the ad asks for anything. Most jewellery advertising on Meta does the opposite: it leads with a discount and a form, and buys cheap clicks that never become enquiries.
The problem
The account was spending on a wide spread of ads with no clear way to tell which ones actually drove quote enquiries. Reach and enquiries were being treated as the same signal, so good converters were judged on how many people saw them, and budget leaked into ads that never delivered a single lead.
What we did

Rebuilt the account as a two-stage funnel.
New creative enters an awareness campaign on a fixed budget for about seven days, measured purely on cost per profile visit. Only the ads that prove themselves graduate into the lead-gen campaign, where we measure cost per quote enquiry. - 02.
Let the data pick the creative.
Clean, single-product hero pieces (the cuffs, the stacks, the signature settings) beat themed and portrait-style creative on both reach and conversion every time. So we shot more of what worked and retired what didn’t. - 03.
Handled fatigue without pausing winners.
When a top performer gets seen too often, the answer is fresh versions of the winning style plus a frequency cap and a wider audience. Pausing a proven performer resets how Meta optimises it and costs you the enquiries it was bringing in.
The account now knows the difference between an ad that gets attention and an ad that gets enquiries.
The result
Cost per click dropped 30% to R0.78. Clicks rose to 13,876 in the month, with impressions up 378% year on year, so the brand is reaching far more of the right feed for less. On the lead-gen ads, the best creative brought in quote enquiries at R76 each, with the campaign averaging roughly R100 a lead. The wider lesson is one the account keeps proving: a clean single-product hero, shot well, beats a busy themed piece on both attention and enquiries almost every time.
